Well one of the things that having kids does is that it kind of enslaves and restrains you. I'm broke and I can't afford kids and there were very few times where I could. But that does give you some freedom. Not only is there nothing financial to take away from me (trust me on this.) but it frees me to say the truth. For example: Israel should be registered as a foreign agent. Biden and all the Dems that armed them should also be charged with war crimes. It really is genocide in Gaza. And I'll take the punishment for saying those things. Apparently it could be my phone exploding near my groin. Or my heart. Choices I guess. But I also don't have to worry about someone targeting my children or a job that I would probably need if I had kids. No trust funds here. People with kids, or politicians who want kids and want a future in politics, or less likely to say what I just said. And I don't think those people are awful cowards. There's a price to pay if you take on the lobby. You're just less likely to do that if burdened by debt or children. I think that's the point of our fucked up society. And one of the many many reasons it's a fucked up society.
I was responding to this Young Turks post. One thing I forgot to add: If Sarah Huckabee really liked kids in her state she wouldn't have signed a bill allowing them to work at younger ages. Contrast this to Walz feeding all the kids in his state. Their pics with kids look different too.
