I really think that mixed martial arts is a very exciting and much more cerebral approach to the fight game. Not to mention that boxers usually get their asses kicked whenever they step into the octagon. They're great standing up, not so great on their ground, although somebody like Tyson, built like a wrestler anyway, could excel if he learned takedown defense..
One of the best fights I've seen on the Ultimate Fighting reality show was between world class wrestler and Pittsburgh native (Edinboro college) Josh Kosheck and Diego "the nightmare" Sanchez. What a war. They're going to repeat that fight tonight at 7 on Spike Tv. I understand that Spike has gotten rid of their fake pro wrestling contract. I hope they replace it with a mixed martial arts show like this one.
One word of advice to Diego: I honestly don't think that Jesus has anything to do with your guillotine chokes and vicious knees to the forehead. What, you don't like that punk? Well, I'm tapping out so there. Call me "easy tappins" Shropshire...And for Josh and this is a spoiler alert: you are too much of a nice guy on the ground. You could have applied several choke holds on your own. That must have been your noble collegiate background getting in the way...On the other hand, there is an attempt to create real professional wrestling based on the team concept. Josh would be a natural for that more genteel league...
